Cualquiera de cuatro especies de un antílope africano delicado (género Madoqua), nombrado así por su llamada de alarma.

Su alzada es de 30–40 cm (12–16 pulg.) y pesa 3–5 kg (7–11 lb). Tiene un morro alargado y una piel suave, gris o pardusca en el lomo y blanca en el vientre. El pelo de la coronilla forma un mechón enhiesto que puede ocultar parcialmente los cuernos cortos y anillados del macho. Viven en zonas secas de matorral denso de África meridional y oriental, y se alimentan principalmente de acacios y otros arbustos.
